Piano Tuning and Repair Services

Piano Tuning and Repair Services High Wycombe

Introduction into services

Every piano is different and therefore your requirements will be unique, however we do recommend that pianos are tuned twice a year to maintain their pitch and condition. We will advise you on how best to maintain your piano as atmospheric changes such as humidity and temperature will affect how well your instrument remains in tune.

At Resonant Piano Tuning we are committed to providing an efficient and affordable service.

The piano tuning service costs £60. If your piano requires additional work our staff will discuss this with you and can offer a quote for your consideration.

Regulation and Toning

Pianos that are a little older sometimes need an extra bit of love and care. We are able to bring life back to your trusty old instrument and to bring the best expression and feel back to the piano action. Sticking notes and slow returning hammers can be repaired at the same time as tuning and are usually easy to fix.

Sometimes the repair can be a little more tricky and may need us to remove the action and carry out the repair in our workshop.

Prices start from £50 for regulation and toning. Please contact us for more information.

Cleaning

We offer a comprehensive cleaning service for upright and grand pianos.

We have specially designed tools that can clean your piano in situ.

Prices start from £60.

Tuning your piano

I am a professionally trained piano tuner, using my ears and hands to get the best from your piano. I sometimes use a tuning fork to set the base pitch, but I also use electronic devices where that aids the process. A tuning will usually take about an hour, depending on the piano, and during this time I will need some peace and quiet! Sometimes it may take a bit longer, especially if the piano has not been tuned for a year or more.

I always aim to tune to concert pitch (A440) but if it has been a while since the piano was last tuned, this may not be possible in one go. Pianos are a bit like living and breathing beings and they don’t take well to big changes. It may take more than one visit to get it right, but I will discuss that with you both when you make your appointment and when I first see the piano. There should be no big surprises!
